Wow, Ian is 8 years old!! It’s just sinking in that Jacob is 6 and now I have to digest Ian being 8:) Ian is in 2nd grade and loves recess and gym. He loves collecting Pokemon cards and spends a lot of time sorting his cards and reading about their powers/defenses, etc. As you’ll see in his picture, he is trying to grow long hair. We try to convince him to cut the front a bit shorter, but he wants nothing to do with that. He is growing up way too fast, but we are so proud of him and love seeing the new things he learns and discovers every year.

Happy Birthday to my amazing 6 year old, Jacob! Jacob is in kindergarten and is really loving it and doing well. He enjoys make believe play and Batman. They are just getting started on learning to read and he is so excited to learn and reading many sight words they’ve learned. He is taking cupcakes in to share with the class and will be having a party in about a week (it a joint party with Ian’s birthday) at the Building for Kids. It will be a mad scientist party. He can’t wait. We are very proud of him and can’t believe he is 6 years old already!

Friday night, Ian had his Pinewood derby race for Cub Scouts. Mike and Ian worked on his vehicle and made a tank. Ian helped with every part and even found a lego man to add to the top. His tank did well at the race, it started nice and fast. It slowed a bit at the end, but made it past the finish line and usually around 3rd place each time. In the end, he received a ribbon for the most war-like vehicle and a trophy for 3rd place Best in Show.
There was a good turnout and the track was right in the middle for easy viewing of all the races:

Here are some of the vehicles, Ian’s tank is right in the front of the picture:

Ian is very proud of his ribbon and trophy:
